New class - new challenges!

Started a new class Online at Boston University today - Project Management. Really looking forward to continue the exiting journey of studying in the U.S. On-line has such a lot of advantages when you are living in one city (love living in Newport!) and wish to attend an interesting education in another city.

An alien in Newport...

This is my first posting ever on a blog, first time to participate in an Online class, also the first time living in the US!

Born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden I am at this moment an "alien" living in Newport, Rhode Island. I have the pleasure of living here in this beautiful area together with my family for one year. Me and my husband have three wonderful kids Erik, Sofia & Rebecka. After a few weeks living like "bag-ladies" waiting for our things to arrive in the enormous container...we are now settled in a classic New England house in Newport.

I have a genuine interest in business mechanics and of understanding how people make their decisions. My curiosity for new countries and cultures has highly influenced the choices I have taken in my carrier up until today.

My belief is that marketing and sales must always go hand in hand, you have to “live under the skin” of your customer to  be able to develop successful marketing strategies.

Travelling and getting to know new countries and other cultures has always been part of my identity, my soul as that´s what gets me going.

From at an early age, working extra to be able to travel by bus, train or boat in Europe until today, working as Marketing Manager / Business developer for Japanese, Korean and an American companies giving me the opportunity to do business in Scandinavia, West & Eastern Europe as well as parts of Middle East & India. If it´s up to me, which it is...this is also where my future lies.

My intention is that this blog will contain info on topics I find interesting and it will probably be a mixture of my own opinion on various topics and images of life, as it is, this year in Newport, RI.
